This policy explains how Medicare Broker LLC and J.B. Barron LLC collect, use and protect your information when you use the medicarebroker.ai website and the Medicare Broker mobile app (together, the "Service").

• Medicare Broker LLC builds and runs the website and app. It is a technology company and does not sell insurance or give insurance advice.

• J.B. Barron LLC is a licensed insurance agency. Its licensed agent reviews your answers, recommends plans and helps you enroll. Insurance companies pay J.B. Barron LLC when you enroll in one of their plans.

"We," "us" and "our" mean both companies.

The short version

• We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it or share it for advertising.

• We share your information with an insurance company when you choose to apply for one of its plans. Every way we share information is listed below.

• A licensed agent calls you at the time you schedule, or when needed to finish something you asked for.

• You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.​

Information we collect

Information you give us in the app:

• Your name, phone number, email, mailing address, county and date of birth

• Information from your Medicare card, including your Medicare number and your Part A and Part B start dates

• Your answers about your health, such as health conditions you choose to share

• Your prescriptions, doses and preferred pharmacy

• Your coverage preferences, such as doctors you want to keep, travel plans and extra benefits you want

• Income information you choose to share, which can affect your Medicare Part B and Part D premiums

• Your Scope of Appointment form and electronic signature

• The date and time you schedule for your call

Information collected automatically:

• On the website: basic visit information such as your browser type, pages visited and the date and time of your visit. See our Cookie Policy.

• In the app: basic technical information such as your device type and app version, plus the Apple Search Ads campaign that led to your download, if any. 

Information from others: If a family member uses the app to help you, they may give us information about you. They should do so only with your permission.

How we use your information

• So J.B. Barron LLC's licensed agent can compare Medicare plans and recommend options that fit your answers

• To prepare for and hold the call you schedule with a licensed agent

• To help you apply for and enroll in a plan you choose

• To meet Medicare and state insurance rules, including keeping required records

• To send reminders and service messages about your call or your plan

• To keep the Service secure and working properly

We do not use your health information for advertising.

How we share your information

We share your information only in these cases:

• With the insurance company you choose. When you decide to apply for a plan, we send that company the information needed to process your application.

• From the app to J.B. Barron LLC, only after you agree in the app. The agent then contacts you at the time you schedule.

• With service providers who help us run the Service, such as website hosting Wix, our customer records system Salesforce.  They may use your information only to provide services to us and must protect it.

• When the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena, or when Medicare or a state insurance department audits us.

• If our business is sold or merged. Your information would stay protected by this policy.

We will not share your information with any other insurance agent, agency or marketing company unless you first give written permission that names that company.

Your health information

Your health and prescription answers are used only to compare plans and help you enroll. We will not disclose them to anyone except as described above without your written authorization. We do not sell them or use them for advertising.

Insurance privacy notice

J.B. Barron LLC gives this notice as required by federal law (the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act) and state insurance privacy rules.

• What we collect: the information listed under "Information we collect" above.

• What we share: we do not share nonpublic personal information about current or former clients with outside companies, except as the law allows: with the insurance company you apply with, with service providers who help us serve you, or when the law requires. Because we don't share in any other way, there is nothing you need to opt out of.

• How we protect it: physical, electronic and procedural safeguards, with access limited to people who need it to serve you.

• Former clients: we treat your information the same way after you stop being a client.

Calls, texts and emails

• A licensed agent calls you at the time you schedule, or when needed to finish something you asked for.

• Sales and enrollment calls are recorded, as Medicare requires. The agent will tell you at the start of each call.

• We may text or email you about your scheduled call or your plan. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts, and use the unsubscribe link in any email.

• We do not make prerecorded marketing calls.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:​

• Correct information that is wrong

• Delete your information, except records the law requires us to keep

• Stop calls, texts or emails​

Email bradford@jbbarron.com. We will confirm your identity before acting and respond within 45 days. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will answer within 60 days. Depending on your state, you may have additional rights under state law, and we will honor them.

You can also delete the app at any time.

How long we keep information

We keep information as long as we need it to serve you and as long as the law and our insurance company contracts require. For example, Medicare rules require us to keep sales call recordings for at least six years, and some enrollment records must be kept for at least ten years. When we no longer need information, we delete it securely.

How we protect information

We use encryption, password protection and limited access to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires. For Florida residents, that is generally within 30 days.

Children

The Service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Not affiliated with the government

We are not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we will update the effective date and post a notice on the website
